Meghan Markle has taken a holiday without husband Prince Harry to Toronto as she prepares to make her way to see her mother Doria Ragland in California.
The Duchess of Sussex is apparently meeting friends in the Canadian city, where she filmed every season of legal drama Suits.
Following her time in Toronto, she is expected to journey down to California solo. It is unknown whether Harry will join later on.
Her father Thomas Markle will be nearby in Rosarito, Mexico, but there is no word as to whether the Duchess plans to meet with her father.
Why did Meghan Markle fly to California alone?
Following their marriage, Harry and Meghan have been inseparable, taking part in their royal duties together as a couple.
Megan’s first solo trip following their wedding may not be entirely solo however, as the Duchess could be flying out first, to be joined by the Prince later.
Harry and Meghan have already revealed summer plans to visit the states in 2019, so it is possible the couple have made early holiday plans.
A Source at Us Weekly revealed: “Meghan is looking forward to introducing Harry to everything she loves about the US.
“Meghan and Harry want to solidify ties between the UK and the US. They want to highlight and foster these relationships.”
However, Meghan’s solo visit to her Ms. Ragland may be a personal affair and she could just want some time with her mother.
Meghan’s father Thomas Markle is situated just 150km away from her mother but it seems unlikely the royal will visit him.
Prince Harry is apparently still in Botswana, where he will join the Annual General Meeting for Rhino Conservation Botswana as Patron.
Will Meghan Markle meet with Thomas Markle?
Meghan and her father have apparently not talked for months following her wedding to Prince Harry.
The 74-year-old has been stirring up a storm recently, calling the royal family ‘cult like’ and comparing them to the Church of Scientology.
Mr Markle has not confirmed whether he will meet with his daughter while she visits California, but the ongoing drama suggests reconciliation will not take place.
Mr Markle and Meghan have apparently been no-contact since a paparazzi scandal involving staged photos was exposed.
Following this scandal, Thomas Markle said: “I made a terrible mistake which I have paid for since.”
The former lighting technician has revealed he still wants a relationship with his daughter, saying: “I love my daughter. I love Prince Harry. I wish them nothing but the best.”
Royal sources have warned the ongoing tirade could permanently damage Mr Markle’s relationship with his daughter.
