For their first summer together as husband and wife, Harry and Meghan will be looking forward to a break from the public eye.
The couple have been busy with royal duties since their May wedding.
Now their new nephew Louis has been christened and the Queen is settling into her long holiday in Balmoral Castle, Scotland, Harry and Meghan can plan some time for themselves.
First things first, the pair will head over to join Harry’s grandmother for a few days in the lap of luxury at Balmoral.
It is customary for royals to visit the castle and the Queen, 92, expects everyone to join her at some stage before she returns to London in November.
While there, the couple will get involved in all sorts of British pastimes.
Outdoor picnics, barbecues, long walks and deer hunting will all be on the cards.
The barbecues at Balmoral are particularly famous, with staff setting everything up and then scarpering for the Royals to take over.
According to Brian Hoey’s book At Home with the Queen, staff set up family picnics and then “move to a discreet distance where they can keep an eye on things and be within calling range if needed.”
“The Queen pours the tea but that is the extent of her culinary efforts.”
Every year, a number of fabulous parties and dances are hosted at the castle, which Harry’s American wife will be able to enjoy.
The couple is said to be making further travel plans to visit Meghan’s native California in 2019, according to Us Weekly.
A source said: “Meghan is looking forward to introducing Harry to everything she loves about the US.”
They’ll also be looking to use their celebrity for good, according to the source: “Meghan and Harry want to solidify ties between the UK and the US. They want to highlight and foster these relationships.”
They’ll also reportedly visit a few tech companies while in California.
Us Weekly’s source said: “They will meet with CEOs and female tech entrepreneurs to encourage their involvement in the industry.”
Chances are they’ll also pop in on the Barack Obama Foundation while they’re there.
“President and Mrs Obama have been stalwart supporters,” the source said.
“The Canadian Foreign Office has heard about the tour and would love to have them stop there. This may very well become a North American tour.”
There have been reports that Meghan will head Stateside on her own to enjoy some alone time with friends and family before Harry joins her.
The Us Weekly source said the America trip will likely be the last before they start trying to have children.
Up next though, Harry will surely be planning something to spoil his wife for her birthday on Saturday.
Last year, they spent it alone in Africa before their engagement.
This year, they’ll be at the wedding of Prince Harry’s childhood friend Charlie Van Straubenzee.
He and Daisy Jenks will tie the knot in Churt, Surrey, and it is expected Harry will play a role after Charlie famously made a speech at Meghan and Harry’s wedding where he teased his old friend mercilessly.
Harry’s older brother, Prince William, and his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, have already headed off to the Greek island Mustique for their summer.
The couple and their three children – George, Charlotte and Louis – will be enjoying the white sand beaches before heading back to Amner Hall for the rest of the summer.
