The Duchess of Sussex will celebrate her 37th birthday on Saturday, August 4.
The celebration will be her first birthday as a member of the royal family but how will the newly-wed be spending her special day?
Can we expect a lavish affair where Prince Harry pulls out all the stops for his new wife?
Actually no, as the couple will be spending Meghan’s birthday at a wedding.
The newlyweds will be attending the wedding of Harry’s childhood friend Charlie Van Straubenzee and his bride Daisy Jenks.
The wedding is taking place in the village of Churt, Surrey on Saturday.
Prince Harry is best friends with Charlie – they met while attending Ludgrove Prep School in Berkshire.
Charlie and his brother Thomas were reportedly ushers at the wedding of Harry and Meghan back in May.
Thomas Van Straubenzee is one of Princess Charlotte’s godparents and attended her christening in July 2015.
Prince Harry is the best man at the wedding so Meghan is likely to be sitting by herself on her birthday, as the best man typically sits at the top table.
Both Charlie and Prince William are said to have roasted Harry in a speech during his wedding reception at Frogmore House, so guests can look forward to Harry making fun of his best friend on Saturday.
Royal photographer Tim Rooke revealed the date of the wedding in a tweet and explained he will not be taking pictures at the event.
He wrote: “Unfortunately I will be missing the wedding of Charlie Van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks where Prince Harry will be best man on August 4th in Churt Surrey as I will be on the beach.
“Can’t do everything!”
Last year, Meghan spent her 36th birthday with Prince Harry on safari in Africa.
The Duchess of Sussex shares her date of birth with another royal – the Queen’s late mother.
Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon was born on the same day as Meghan in 1900.
This year would have been the Queen mother’s 118th birthday, but sadly she passed away in her sleep in March 2002.
