The Duchess of Sussex spoke to the girl who has the big responsibility of performing the coin toss before the ladies’ singles final between before Meghan’s friend Serena Williams and Germany’s Angelique Kerber.

The 11-year-old said the was both and excited to meet the royals.

Meghan and Kate arrived at Wimbledon today for a girls’ day out for first engagement together without their husbands Prince Harry and Prince William.

The pair also met with former Wimbledon Ladies Champions during a lunch before the final starts.

Today’s engagement comes days after Meghan’s two-day tour of Ireland, which was her first tour out the UK with her new husband Prince Harry.

While in Ireland the Duke and Duchess of Sussex greeted young fans on the second day of their visit.

The prince, 33, also showed off his childish side when he jokingly wagged his finger at three-year-old Walter Cullen who stroked his wife Meghan’s hair during their visit to Croke Park in Dublin.

Meghan was snapped turning around in surprise to catch Walter, who had taken a shine to the duchess, as he reached out to touch her glossy locks.

The heart-warming exchange quickly prompted royal fans to predict Meghan Markle and Harry will be a “such loving” parents to their own future children.

The pair have previously revealed they have plans for a royal baby “in the near future”.

Harry and Meghan revealed in a BBC interview following the announcement of their engagement last November there are plans for a royal baby “in the near future”.

When asked Harry responded: “Not currently, no.

“No, of course, you know, I think one step at a time, and hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future.”

While Meghan attended Wimbledon two years ago as a guest of Ralph Lauren, she has not yet made an appearance in the royal box this year.

After Williams won her semi-final match on Wednesday, she praised her “wonderful” friendship with Meghan.

During the post-match press conference the tennis ace said: “Every year for a couple years she comes out to Wimbledon and has supported me.

“Now she’s supporting me in a different role, but our friendship is still exactly the same.”

Meghan Markle has been pictured at Wimbledon on several occasions in the past, including in the summer of 2016, the summer in which she is thought to have met Prince Harry for the first time.

Ms Williams continued: “We have always supported each other, just been there for each other through a lot.

“I look forward to it.”

It comes almost two months after she was at Prince Harry and Meghan’s Royal Wedding in Windsor with her husband Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian.

The Duchess of Sussex and Williams met in 2010 at the Super Bowl and reportedly “hit it off immediately”.

Writing on her former blog, The Tig, the Duchess of Sussex said: “Taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old fashioned girly stuff.”
