Meghan arrived with her husband, Prince Harry at the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace for the 4pm christening service, conducted by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Wearing a olive green Ralph Lauren dress, Meghan topped off her look with a matching coloured Stephen Jones hat and high heels while Prince Harry looked dashing in a dark suit.

The royal couple looked prim and proper, dressed for the occasion as they walked towards The Chapel Royal, to attend their nephew’s christening.

Meghan’s fashion choice mirrored the late Princess Diana who was pictured wearing a number of olive green ensembles during her royal career.

Diana has been regarded as an international fashion icon during her life in the Royal Family and even after her death in 1997.

In June 1988, she was captured climbing into a tank during a visit to the Royal Hampshire regiment at Tidworth and wore a boiler suit to join in with exercises.

During that same visit, she was seen chatting to a soldier in camouflage gear as they went about their military excersies.

The stunning princess was also captured stylishly wearing an olive green suit designed by Jasper Conran.

Affectionately dubbed ‘The People’s Princess, Diana often wore green ensembles as she undertook her royal duties with husband, Prince Charles.

This included the Prince and Princess Of Wales visit to Lisbon, where they were pictured signing the visitors’ book at The Castle of St George in the Portugese capital.

Diana also wore green at a meet and greet with royal well-wishers at the British School during her official tour of South Korea.

Earlier in the month, Meghan channeled Diana with a summery yellow dress designed by US designer Brandon Maxwell, who has also worked as Lady Gaga’s stylist in the past.

Diana wore a more casual yellow collared button-up silk dress, with tie details at the neck on her visit to the Alice Springs, Australia with Prince Charles in 1983.

A fashion expert this week told Express.co.uk the way Meghan plays with fashion conventions is reminiscent of Diana.

Vanessa Collen, founder of luxury independent fashion boutique, Collen & Clare, said: “We can all look to Meghan to flex the rules a little and push boundaries in the same way that Diana did.”

Kate’s parents also attended the royal event on Monday, as well as her brother and sister, along with Louis’ six godparents – who are known to be close friends of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Louis’ godparents were pictured entering the chapel with the Middleton family before Kate and her family arrived with Prince Louis.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, who presided over the service today, said today on Twitter: “I’m delighted and privileged to be christening Prince Louis today – a precious child made in God’s image, just as we all are.”
