This visit to Ireland will be Harry and Meghan’s first foreign trip as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Their first royal trip abroad together has an itinerary filled with events and culture.
According to a statement issued by Kensington Palace, Meghan and Harry will “visit organisations central to Irish life”.
That will include a Gaelic Sports festival at the home of the Gaelic Athletic Association, Croke Park.
The Royals have been invited to a summer garden party at the headquarters of the British Ambassador, where they will meet people from Ireland’s arts, military, sports, and social enterprise departments.
Kensington Palace has said this visit will see Their Royal Highnesses learning “about Ireland’s culture and heritage.”
The Royal couple has a prior engagement before flying to Ireland, with Prince Louis’ christening the day before they fly out.
Prince Louis’ christening is taking place on July 9 at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace and will have a small guest list including members of the Royal family and the Middletons.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be visiting Ireland on July 10 until July 11.
Where will Meghan and Harry visit in Ireland?
There will be a lot to fit into the two-day trip, including a visit to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells, one of Ireland’s cultural treasures.
The Book of Kells is the world’s oldest and most famous book, a manuscript Gospel book in Latin, dating from 800AD.
There will also be a moment of reflection at the Famine Memorial for the Royals, as well as a tour of the Irish Emigration Museum.
The Famine memorial was built to commemorate the Great Famine which transpired in Ireland during the mid 19th century.
Around one million people died and a further one million emigrated from Ireland, diminishing the country’s population by between 20 and 25 percent.
Meghan and Harry will also visit DogPatch Labs to learn about technology start-ups, meeting the young people involved in coding workshops.
The Royals will be attending official meetings with the President of Ireland Michael Higgins and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar during their visit.
Prince William has recently undertaken a royal tour of Jerusalem, having honoured Holocaust victims at the Yad Vashem memorial.
The Duke of Cambridge was the first senior member of the British Royal Family to officially visit Israel.
