But 36-year-old Kate has actually owned the stunning yellow ring for more than a decade.

Eagle-eyed royal fans noted that the duchess was in fact photographed wearing the dazzling ring on her finger back in January 2008 when she celebrated her 26th birthday.

A then-Kate Middleton was snapped in the back of a taxi with her younger sister Pippa Middleton as they left Kitts club in Sloane Square.

New mother Kate wore the citrine stone embellishment, which embodies new life, warmth and carries the power of the sun, on her right hand as she enjoyed a day out at Wimbledon on Sunday.

Kate and William looked closer than ever as they sat in the royal box at Wimbledon’s Centre Court where they watched Serbia’s Novak Djokovic defeat South Africa’s Kevin Anderson.

The ring quickly prompted fans to believe it was a present from Prince William, as a token of appreciation to his wife following the birth of their second son, Prince Louis.

This is not the first time the Duchess has been seen wearing the stunning ring.

Kate also sported it back in May at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding, three weeks after she had given birth to Louis.

Known as a “push present”, it has become much more common for royal fathers to present their partners with a gift thanking them for enduring hard labour.

Prince Philip reportedly gave a then-Princess Elizabeth a large bottle of champagne and bouquet of red roses and carnations after Prince Charles was born in 1948.

But it was Princess Diana who was spoiled the most as she was lavished with a range of gifts, including a diamond and pearl necklace that featured a dazzling heart at the centre, a gold ‘W’ to add to her charm bracelet and a custom Mini Cooper.

And it is often speculated that Kate was gifted with a push present after she was spotted wearing a circular pendant inscribed with ‘George Alexander Louis’ following the birth of her first child, Prince George.

The duchess is also said to have received a brooch, boasting a pink diamond at its centre, which the prince had commissioned especially for his wife from the Queen’s jewellers.

When Princess Charlotte was born, Kate is thought to have received a pair of green tourmaline, green amethyst and diamond earrings made especially for her by Kiki McDonough, estimated to be worth £3,000, from William.
