The Wimbledon legend opened up about meeting Kate at The Championship semi-finals in 2012.

Speaking about the delightful experience, he described the Duchess as “lovely” and “a complete doll.

He said: ”I really thought she was incredibly pleasant. She was lovely.”

The pair shared the same row of seats in the Royal Box during the event, attended together with their spouses Prince William and Steffi Graf.

Agassi revealed he and his wife had a lovely conversation with Kate at Wimbledon.

He said: “We didn’t chat a whole lot but she was lovely.

“I will not say anything else, because I don’t know what offends people here or not!”

But Kate is not the only Duchess Andre had a good word for.

When asked about Meghan Markle, who married Prince Harry on May 19 in Windsor, he said: “Rock on! I wish them nothing but the best.”

This is not the first time the tennis champ speaks about the personality and manners of the Duchess of Cambridge.

In a different interview released last year, Andre described Kate as a “sweetheart”, and highlighted one aspect sports celebrities like him and royals have in common.

He said: “We sat next to each other and watched the semi-finals about five years ago.

“She’s a sweetheart of a lady. She’s a real sweetheart.

“I don’t know her well and quite honestly I don’t get the whole royalty thing – in the sense that they’re celebrities on steroids or something.

“I can empathise with some of that, but it’s fascinating to watch from the outside.

“You have to be on your game all the time!”

The Duchess of Cambridge is known to be a lifelong tennis fan.

But it is still unclear whether she will attend this year’s tournament, as she is currently on maternity leave following the birth of little Prince Louis on April 23.

But royal experts and fans are hoping she will make an appearance, possibly joining her sister-in-law Meghan, who is poised to make her Wimbledon debut as a royal this year.

Royal Suitor, an anonymous blogger, wrote: “With Federer and Serena playing back-to-back I think we may get a Kate-Meghan outing to see the last two matches.

“Or a possible full Cambridge-Sussex double date.

“Harry’s not a tennis guy but they did come to his polo.”
