The Rudge Park Comprehensive lot are back on our screens tomorrow…

The Inbetweeners‘ James Buckley almost had a nasty accident during the filming of one of the show’s episodes, it has been revealed.

Stars of the iconic Channel 4 sitcom are set to reunite for a one-off special tomorrow night (January 1). Titled The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited, the show will see the gang look back over the most memorable moments from the hit series.

Ahead of the episode, Blake Harrison – who portrayed Neil – has recalled an on-set near-death experience that took place during the filming of the ‘Field Trip’ episode.

The scene in question saw the lads get stranded on a boat, which resulted in Jay Cartwright shooting a flare gun into the air.

Speaking to The Sun, Harrison said that Buckley was having trouble using the prop and struggled to understand producers’ instructions on how to use it.

“He genuinely could have died,” Harrison said of the mishap. “He looked down the barrel of it before it goes off and we were told don’t ever do that because if it goes off, it has the force of a grenade.

“So when James does that and half a second later it comes out, that’s how close we were to recasting.”

It’s also reported that Buckley’s on-screen Dad (David Schaal) had a near-death experience while shooting the series.

Speaking on tomorrow night’s reunion show, Schaal said: “I had to get half-naked, it was freezing cold and I had to piss and fart through the whole scene while my cock was shrivelled to the size of an acorn.

“It was so cold I had a car crash on the way home because I went hot, cold, hot, cold and I fell asleep at the wheel.”

The actor went on to say that two people were seriously injured in the accident.

Upon the announcement of Fwends Reunited, Tom Beck, Channel 4’s head of live events and commissioning editor for entertainment, said: “Will, Jay, Simon and Neil spent years failing to sneak into the best parties, so I’m very pleased to throw one that they’re definitely invited to.

“I just hope Will brings his Mum.”

Despite returning for a celebration show, Blake Harrison admitted earlier this year that it’s unlikely that the show will ever return for a fourth series. “I just don’t think it would work”, he admitted. Elsewhere, James Buckley admitted he thinks that the show would be deemed too offensive in 2018.
