A new official photograph was released last night of the Prince in the garden at Clarence House.
The picture shows George – usually a little camera shy – with a huge grin on his face.
It was taken just after the christening of his little brother Prince Louis on July 9, when we last saw the Cambridges out in public.
To mark his birthday, a new £5 coin has been issued by the Royal Mint, showing St George and the Dragon on its reverse.
Prince George is the third in line for the throne after his grandad Prince Charles and dad Prince William.
The future King was born in the private Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, at 4.24pm on July 22, 2013, weighing 8lb 6oz.
We’ve seen Prince George out and about a number of times over the past year.
He was on the balcony at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s official birthday celebrations in June.
George was spotted goofing around with Savannah Phillips, the seven-year-old daughter of William’s cousin Peter and his wife Autumn Phillips.
He was also a page boy alongside his sister Princess Charlotte, when his uncle Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in May.
George recently completed his first year at school, Thomas’s Battersea in south London, where he played a sheep in the nativity play at Christmas.
We saw a nervous little Prince arriving with his dad for his first day of school in 2017, in his uniform of navy shorts and jacket, long red socks and black shoes.
George is said to be crazy about helicopters and flying, perhaps taking after his father who worked as an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot.
A curious phenomenon started by the Prince is known as the ‘Prince George effect’, where other parents try to emulate the Prince’s style.
In 2016, the dressing gown he wore while meeting President Obama sold out after he was seen wearing it.
In September 2017 the news that the Prince’s school had served a Le Puy green lentil dish resulted in a spike in the legume’s sales.
And in 2015, the two-year-old ranked No. 49 on GQ’s “50 Best Dressed Men in Britain” list, even though he was still in nappies!
