The Duchess of Cambridge watched her best friend Sophie Carter tie the knot this weekend.

Together with husband Prince William, the royal couple brought their two eldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte to attend the nuptials.

The royals saw Sophie Carter marry Robert Snuggs at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Norfolk on Saturday.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte took on a very special role for the big day and were chosen to be one of three bridesmaids and one of four page boys taking part in the ceremony.

A royal insider told People magazine of the Prince: “George is a real star, quite the little chap.

“Afterward, George was seen dashing around the churchyard while little Charlotte headed towards her mother, who picked her up and held her as they posed for pictures with Sophie’s family.

“He was having a great time, running around like the leader of the pack.”

This is the second time the young royals have taken on central roles during a wedding this year, as they acted as a bridesmaid and page boy during the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in May.

Who is Kate’s best friend Sophie Carter?

Sophie Carter is one of Kate’s closest friends.

The two have been seen frequently together at various otings including from the tennis stands of Wimbledon to exclusive royal gatherings.

Sophie and the Duchess of Cambridge have been friends since they were children and she is said to be one of Kate’s most discreet and trustworthy friends.

The two also have houses close to each other.

Sophie is from Letheringsett, Norfolk, which is not far from Kate and William’s country house, Anmer Hall.

Previously Sophie has been seen accompanying the Duchess of Cambridge to charity concerts as well as tennis matches at Wimbledon.

To symbolise the strong friendship, Kate and William chose Sophie to be a godmother to Princess Charlotte in 2015.

Sophie is not only close with Kate, but with her entire family.

She has formerly joined Kate’s family for church in Sandringham.

Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, along with the Duchess’s brother, James Middleton were also in attendance of the wedding, however, Pippa Middleton was nowhere to be seen.

Sophie was a guest of Pippa Middleton and James wedding in 2017 but Pippa’s absence is most likely due to the fact she is expecting her first child next month.
