According to Crouch, the Duke of Sussex approached him in the changing rooms before asking him a cheeky question.
Discussing Crouch’s marriage, Harry asked the football legend: “How did you bag Abbey?”
Abbey Clancy, 32, is a model and the wife of footballer Peter Crouch, 37, and the mother to their three children.
When asked whether he answered the question on BBC Radio 5 live Sport, Crouch said he “was taken back by it”.
He added: “I told Abbey, she was buzzing.”
Clarifying whether the Duke of Sussex’s banter was aimed at jokingly insult him, Crouch confirmed: “It was definitely along those lines.”
He continued: “He was dissing me.
“He laughed his head off and then walked off, and I was like: ’that just happened’.”
It is not new that the Duke of Sussex likes making the occasional joke, as it has previously been revealed Harry loves banter.
According to royal biographer Penny Junor, Harry is able to make you laugh within seconds, making jokes at both yours and his expense.
Mrs Junor said: “It’s like talking to a normal person.”
Former soldier David Wiseman also recently disclosed how Harry can only “truly be himself” when he’s around fellow army veterans.
He said about the Prince: “He does have a cheeky side.
“He likes a joke, he likes his banter.
“But there are only very few situations where he can let that shine, and one of those is when he’s around the lads.”
