Prince Harry was born on September 15, 1984, in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London at 4.20pm, weighing 6lb 14oz.

Although he was christened Henry Charles Albert David, he quickly became known as Harry to family and friends

And his first public appearance took place when’s proud parents continued the family tradition for royal babies to be photographed in their mother’s arms on the hospital’s steps.

By the age of one, Prince Harry had mastered the art of crawling. Here, he is pictured in action at home in Kensington Palace on 4 October 1985, wearing a cute sailor-inspired outfit.

Soon after his third birthday, the young Prince was photographed waving to waiting photographers at Mrs Jane Mynors nursery school in London’s Notting Hill carrying his cute Thomas The Tank Engine school bag.

By there age of six the royal’s growing confidence was evidenced by the determination etched on his face as learned to ski on the slopes of Lech in Austria.

However, Harry’s world tragically came crashing down around him when his mother, Diana, Princess Of Wales, died in a car crash in Paris.

The horrific accident happened just two weeks before Harry’s 13th birthday.

The nation wept when they saw the 12-year-old walk outside Westminster Abbey during the funeral service alongside the The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince William, Earl Spencer and Prince Charles

He turned 18 and marked it both with a visit to West Ham United’s Upton Park, where he was presented with personalised jersey, and also with a visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he was photographed with 11-year-old leukaemia patient, Samantha Ledster.

By this time he was attending the exclusive Eton, where he was spotted competing in a traditonal Eton wall game.

Having joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on 8 May 2005 after his gap year, Harry began army life as Officer Cadet Wales.

One year later, in April 2006 he completed his officer training and became a Cornet in the Blues And Royals, which is a regiment of the Household Cavalry in the British Army.

Before it was decided Harry would be deployed to Afghanistan in 2007, there had been a public debate over whether the third in line to the throne should be allowed to fight on the front line.

We next see Harry as a fully grown man inspecting the airfield at Goodwood Aerodrome at an event marking he anniversary of WW2’s Battle of Britain.

With his official visit to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga approaching in October – the first official overseas tour with his new wife Meghan Markle – Harry shows absolutely no sign slowing down any time soon.
