Misha Nonoo is not only one of the Duchess of Sussex’ closest friends but also the person who is believed to have arranged her blind date with Prince Harry in 2016.
The worldwide famous fashion designer has already drawn one of Meghan’s most iconic pieces of clothing, the white Husband Shirt the former actress wore at her first public appearance with the prince in 2017.
But now she could help decorate the newlyweds’ new royal flat in London, as she is moving into interior designing.
Speaking about her career move, she said: “I’m so fascinated by home design and would like to have some sort of home line.
“The space that you live in is such an extension of the way that you dress yourself.”
Misha and Meghan’s history goes back years.
They first met through a mutual friend in Miami and initially bonded over their passion for female empowerment and dogs.
Misha recalled how their friendship was sparked, saying: “We were seated next to one another at a lunch, and we got along like a house on fire.
“I love her to death. She is the coolest girl in the world.”
The first public evidence of their friendship is dated 2015, when the Bahrain-born fashion designer shared a snap of Meghan on Instagram.
The pair also went on a three-week European holiday in 2016 with another friend, Markus Anderson, the membership director of club group Soho House.
But the relations between Misha, who in 2013 was named on Forbes’ exclusive 30 Under 30 list for bright young talent, and Meghan came under the spotlight during the 2017 Invictus Games, when the then-Suits star wore one of Misha’s Easy 8 Husband Shirt blouses, worth £139.
After Harry and Meghan announced their engagement, the fashion designer took to Instagram and cheekily called the item “the shirt that sealed the deal”.
Despite the loved-up couple never revealing who has played the role of Cupid to help them meet, many royal watchers believe Misha is the responsible, as she is well connected with both celebrities and royals.
Misha is also a good friend of Princess Beatrice, as revealed by a picture that shows the pair on holiday together in Jordan last April.
Speaking about their unnamed matchmaker, Prince Harry only confirmed they were a woman, saying: “It was through her and then we met once and then twice back to back two dates in London, last July.
“And then it was I think about three, maybe four weeks later that I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana.
“We camped out with each other under the stars – she came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic.”
