The Duchess of Sussex revealed in 2015 there is one piece of her prized jewellery collection she is already planning to gift to her future daughter.
It was a piece she gifted to herself following the growing success of her old smash hit television show, Suits.
The former actress told Hello in 2015: “I’ve always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch.
“When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which at the time felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version.”
The watch currently retails for more than £3,000, and to commemorate the purchase, Meghan had the watch specially marked.
She explained: “I had it engraved on the back: ‘To MM from MM’.”
Such a special piece of jewellery is sure to be treasured in any family, and the Duchess intends to pass it down to her own children.
She told the magazine: “I plan to give it to my daughter one day.
“That’s what makes piece special – the connection you have to them.”
Both Prince Harry and Meghan have made it clear they hope to have children at some point in the future.
In the interview following their engagement last November, they were asked about the prospect of them starting a family.
When questioned about whether they planned children immediately, Prince Harry responded: “Not currently, no.”
He added: “Of course, one step at a time.
“Hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future.”
