British actor Tom Hardy, 40, was one of the celebrity guests present at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding in Windsor on May 19.
Hardy was joined by other celebrities including George and Amal Clooney and David Beckham.
But in an interview, the actor revealed more about his private friendship with the fifth-in-line to the throne – and told how he dropped everything to fly to his friend’s wedding.
He described Prince Harry as a ‘legend’ and told Esquire magazine that he had flown from filming in New Orleans especially for the Duke of Sussex’s big day.
The pair met when Hardy became ambassador for The Prince’s Trust in 2010 and have remained close friends ever since.
Protectively describing his friendship with the 33-year-old he then told to Esquire magazine: “Harry is a f***ing legend.”
In recent times, Prince Harry and Tom were spotted attending the Audi Polo Challenge cup in London in 2016.
Harry and big brother, Prince William, also had time to hang out with Tom when he filmed a cameo for Star Wars: The Last Jed – but the scene was later cut from the final edit).
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex invited Tom, 40, and Charlotte, 36, to the wedding, and he appeared to be the talk of the star-studded guest list at the Windsor Castle.
On the day, the actor opted for a smart navy suit with a matching tie, and sported a bald head which he did for his new role as Al Capone in his latest film Fonzo.
His wife Charlotte colour co-ordinated with her husband in an ankle-length navy dress adorned in multiple flowers.
One cheeky Twitter user wrote: “I would find it very hard committing myself to Prince Harry knowing Tom Hardy was in the same room #RoyalWedding.”
