The Royal Family posted a selection of 30 images to mark Sarah Ferguson and Princess Andrew’s eldest daughter reaching the milestone.

They tweeted: “Wishing Princess Beatrice a very Happy 30th Birthday!

“To mark the occasion we’ve put together #30at30 photos of HRH #HappyBirthdayHRH.”

The Duke of York also took to Twitter to wish his first daughter a happy birthday, writing: “Happy 30th Birthday to Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice! #HappyBirthdayHRH,” alongside an image of Beatrice.

Princess Beatrice’s milestone comes after just a few days after she opened up about the highs and lows of being a modern royal.

She said how she often finds it “hard to navigate” between a life in the public spotlight and her career.

During an interview with fashion magazine Vogue, Princess Beatrice insisted that despite their royal status they are “real”.

She said: “It’s hard to navigate situations like these because there is no precedent, there is no protocol.

Beatrice is not considered a “working royal” and has a career outside of the palace as the vice president of partnerships and strategy at US-based company Afiniti.

She is currently eighth in line to the throne.

It’s going to be an exciting few months for Beatrice, who will act as maid of honour at her younger sister Princess Eugenie’s Royal Wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October.

The princess sisters are said to be close and described themselves as each other’s “rock”.

During an interview with the Daily Telegraph in 2008, Princess Eugenie told how their differences help them to get along.

She said: “We get on fantastically well, perhaps because we do and think different things.

“I am definitely not as polite as Beatrice, I have to say. I tell it as it is. I am shyer at first.

“Like, at a party I will say to Beatrice as we go in, ‘Oh, you go first.’ But then, when we’re actually in, I am much louder and she is far more polite and solicitous.”
