The Queen’s granddaughter and her husband are not afraid to show public displays of affection, just like any other ordinary couple would, even though royals usually uphold a set of etiquette rules.

They melted hearts at Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding, when Mike sensitively touched heavily-pregnant Zara’s baby bump during the service.

They were also seen canoodling at the weekend, with Zara and Mike giving each other a cheeky tap on the bum while out in public at the Magic Millions Festival of British in Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rarely show public displays of affection, though Meghan and Harry are seen holding hands and exchanging pecks occasionally during less formal events.

And 37-year-old Zara is not afraid to dress down, which is hardly seen among senior members of the royal family.

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge never fails to impress with blow dried hair and stunning dresses, even on casual days out with her husband, William, and three children, Prince George,

Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Meanwhile, Meghan always looks sophisticated, wearing designer outfits during royal engagements and non-formal events.

However, Zara is not afraid to keep it casual, and was spotted just 12 days after giving birth to two-month-old baby Lena at Mike’s golf tournament in Newport Celtic Manor Resort in June.

The royal kept her style laid back with white collared shirt, navy baseball cap, sneakers and a baseball cap.

Zara’s relaxed attitude may be helped by the fact she has not had a royal title bestowed upon her, despite being the daughter of Princess Anne and granddaughter of the Queen.

The Princess Royal famously turned down the Queen’s offer to make her daughter a princess when she was born – and Zara is glad her mother did.

Zara told The Times in 2015: “I’ve been very lucky.

“My parents didn’t give us titles, so we’ve been able to have a slightly more normal upbringing.

“As soon as you’ve got a title, it’s very difficult to shed it. I’m very lucky that both my parents decided not to use the title and we grew up and did all the things that gave us the opportunity to do.”

Her non-royal status allowed her to pursue a long-standing Equestrian career which saw her win a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics of the Great Britain Eventing Team.

Zara and her husband, Mike, have also won respect from the public after being open about their struggles as parents.

In 2016, Zara suffered a miscarriage while trying to conceive a second child, and had another “really early on” in her pregnancy.

Revealing the trauma to the Sunday Times Magazine last month, she said: “I had a miscarriage in 2016 and afterwards loads of people wrote to me and Mike to say they’d been through the same thing.

“In our case, it was something that was really rare; it was nature saying, ‘This one’s not right’, which your body does a lot, I think.

“I had another miscarriage really early on. You need to go through a period where you don’t talk about it because it’s too raw but, as with everything, time’s a great healer.”
