The Duchess of Sussex became a member of the Royal Family this year after marrying Prince Harry in May.

Her father Thomas was due to walk her down the aisle.

However, just before the wedding he hit the headlines for staging paparazzi pictures.

Thomas told the Mail on Sunday he has not spoken to his daughter for more than 10 weeks.

He added that speaking publicly and “saying a few critical words about the Royal Family changing Meghan” has now created a deep rift.

Meghan is said to have found an ally in her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, according to Vanity Fair.

How will Kate help Meghan?

Rumours have circulated in the media that Kate feels threatened by the new, glamorous Duchess.

However, palace sources say the couple are getting along well.

They reportedly share a mutual love of dogs, chocolate, tennis, the English Countryside and fashion.

Kate and Meghan recently attended Wimbledon together, which hinted at a blossoming friendship.

One royal source told Vanity Fair: “Kate’s made a real effort to be kind to Meghan and to include her.

“They’re quite different characters but they get along well.”

Kate is also said to often invite Meghan over to the Cambridge family’s apartment at Kensington Palace for tea.

The source added: “They speak on the phone and Kate makes a point of inviting Meghan over.

“I’d say they try to see each other once a week, sometimes with Harry, sometimes Meghan goes on her own.

“Kate’s really busy juggling three kids; she has a lot on her plate and she has her own friendship group, but she has made an effort with Meghan.

“She’s been very sympathetic to what’s been going on with Meghan and her dad.”
