The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will baptise their third child next month at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in London.

Prince George was also baptised there whereas Charlotte was christened at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.

Louis has not been seen in public since he was glimpsed outside the Lindo Wing on April 23, hours after he was born.

The fifth-in-line to the throne was born inside the private ward at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, on St George’s Day.

When is Prince Louis’ christening?

Kensington Palace said Louis will be baptised on July 9 when he is 11 weeks old.

The palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce that the christening of Prince Louis will take place on Monday 9th July at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, London.

“Prince Louis will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.”

Will Prince George and Princess Charlotte be there?

George, four, and Charlotte, three, are likely to attend their brother’s christening.

Heir to the throne George was snapped in red shorts and a white embroidered top arriving for his sister’s christening in July 2015.

His outfit was almost identical to that of William’s as he was taken to meet baby Harry for the first time.

George shyly held onto Prince William’s hands as Kate, dressed in white, pushed Charlotte in a vintage 1950s silver-wheeled Millson pram.

The trio were cheered on by congregating crowds of well-wishers.

Will Meghan and Harry be at Prince Louis’ baptism?

Louis’ christening is expected to be private, attended by close family and friends.

Only 23 guests attended George’s christening at the Royal Chapel in 2013, but one new guest for this year will be the newly-married Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan was christened and confirmed at the same venue by the Archbishop of Canterbury ahead of her wedding at Windsor Castle in May.

Other guests expected to be present are the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and members of the Middleton family.

The names of Princes Louis’ godparents are likely to be announced on the day.
