Prince Louis will be baptised on July 9 at the Chapel Royal of St James’s Palace in central London, where only three months before Meghan Markle was confirmed into the Church of England.
The service will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who also baptised Meghan and officiated her wedding to Prince Harry.
A leading Royal expert claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are likely to make a compromise with the public when it comes to their youngest son’s christening.
He said: “Judging by the previous christenings, and the importance of the day for the family, Louis’ christening will be a private affair, perhaps no surprise there.
“We’ll no doubt have the official christening photos, as we did with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
“These photos, and the images of the family arriving, will be seen as a compromise by the Cambridges.”
The christening of Prince Louis takes place shortly after his birth on April 23, when the youngest Prince of Cambridge will be 11 weeks old.
Prince George was only three months when he was christened in London on October 23, 2013.
Princess Charlotte was only nine weeks at her christening, but one of the longest Royal waits for a christening was for Eugenie, who was nine months old.
Unlike Prince William’s children’s christenings, Meghan’s baptism was held with even more discretion.
It is understood that the 45-minutes secret service was attended by her now father-in-law, Prince Charles, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and her now husband Prince Harry.
Meghan was also confirmed shortly after her baptism, meaning that she is now able to join her husband at Holy Communion.
The Duchess of Sussex was following Royal tradition.
The move was a significant gesture to her husband’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth, who is the head of the Church of England.
The Duchess of Cambridge was also confirmed into the Church of England in a private service at St. James’s Palace a few weeks before her 2011 marriage to Prince William.
