Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who rode in the carriage with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for the traditional royal procession on Day 1, has been pictured wearing a beautiful sky blue dress for Day 2.
Meanwhile, the Queen looked radiant in a pale blue outfit with bright pink peonies decorating her hat for the second day of the races.
A quintessentially English day out, it is not usual to see members of the Royal Family reappearing throughout the week.
While Meghan has not been spotted on Day 2, a royal expert reveals there is still a possibility fans could the Duchess of Sussex later in the week.
The Queen’s daughter Princess Anne last year attended Days 1, 2 and 3 of the event as did Princess Eugenie, the monarch’s granddaughter, who also attended Day 4.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “We know Royal Ascot week with its thrilling racing and glorious kaleidoscope of fashion is the Queen’s favourite of the year and that she goes every day.
“Part of the fun, like placing bets on the colour of the Queen’s hat, is not knowing which members of the Royal Family appear in the splendid royal procession which has been a feature of the royal meeting since 1825.
“We may well see Harry and Meghan again, we don’t know.”
Although not all royals considered Ascot a staple of their calendar and only time will tell whether Meghan will embrace this British tradition.
The Duchess of Cambridge waited five years before she made her debut at Royal Ascot with Prince William in 2016 and even then only attended on Day 2.
And in 2017, Kate only attended Day 1.
Meghan appeared fairly relaxed for her first day at the races.
In one touching picture from the day, the Duke could not let go of Meghan’s hand and he was pictured stretching as he went to shake the hands of a winner.
The Duchess, who looked stunning in a stylish monochrome outfit by Givenchy, even received a kiss from Frankie Dettori, who won on horse Without Parole.
