DESPERATE Little Mix star Jesy Nelson tried to kill herself after she was subjected to relentless trolling on Twitter about her appearance.
The pop star explained that all the pressure and negative comments caught up with her one night in 2013 and she took ‘as many tablets as she could’.
Her attempt was stopped thanks to her then boyfriend who, when he realised what had happened, called an ambulance and Jesy was treated in hospital.
In a new BBC documentary Jesy Nelson: ‘Odd One Out’ she said: “I was sat in bed crying, thinking, ‘This is never going to go, I’m going to feel sad for the rest of my life, so what is the point in being here?’
“The only way I can describe the pain is like constantly being heartbroken. I remember going to the kitchen and I just took as many tablets as I could. Then my ex, who was with me at the time, he woke up and was like, ‘why are you crying?’ I kept saying, ‘I just want to die’.”
Since the incident, she’s deleted Twitter, which was a massive breeding ground for vile comments. The 28-year-old has been criticised for everything under the sun, including her appearance and singing ability.
After the suicide attempt, Jesy told her family and close friends as well as her Little Mix bandmates.
