Charlize Theron has revealed a first look at Cipher in the upcoming Fast & Furious 9 – and she’s sporting a brand new look.
Cyberterrorist Cipher made her debut in Fast & Furious 8 – aka The Fate of the Furious, depending on where in the world you are – and her return for the next movie in the franchise was confirmed by star Vin Diesel back in July.
Charlize shared a first look at Cipher in Fast & Furious 9 on her Instagram page on Monday (September 2), and the actress sent fans wild by showing off the character’s razor-sharp new haircut.
“She’s baaaaack,” Charlize captioned the post, alongside the hashtag: “#Fast9.”
By the end of The Fate of the Furious, Cipher was reportedly at large in Athens, so how she comes to be tormenting the Fast family again in the ninth film remains to be seen.
But Charlize’s co-star Vin Diesel, who plays Dom Toretto, recently shared some Instagram teases of his own over the weekend, revealing that he’d just finished filming a “really intense” scene for the new film in a behind-the-scenes clip.
“This is Fast 9,” he said. “We’re at the end of week 10 and this is a unique, European take on an opulent version of a tuna party – and you know, this is like nothing you’ve ever seen.”
As well as Fast & Furious 9, Charlize will soon be seen in Bombshell, in which she stars alongside Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman.
The movie is based on a real-life high-profile #MeToo scandal, focusing on the stories of multiple female employees at Fox News in America, who came forward with allegations of sexual harassment against the former chairman and CEO Roger Ailes.
