JD Wetherspoons has announced plans to axe 16 of its renowned pubs, with a branch just outside Glasgow set to be one of the closures.
The Vulcan in Coatbridge is one of four Scottish pubs that Wetherspoons is giving the axe.
As it currently stands, all pubs are open for bids – and will continue trading as normal. However, if sold, they will mostly likely be rebranded with a new name, menu and prices, as reported by the Mirror .

The pub has also been calling time on European drinks for more than a year over its owner’s hard-line stance on leaving the EU.
