Boy's letter to Qantas boss for 'CEO advice' goes viral, Report

A 10-year-old boy has grabbed the attention of Allan Joyce, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Australian flag carrier, Qantas Airways.

Through a letter he wrote to him, with a discretion “please take me seriously”, the minor was seeking expertise knowledge on what to do as an aspiring entrepreneur in the airline business.

In his letter, the boy identified as Alex Jacquot expressed his desire to start an airline, which he has branded as “Oceanic Express”, but needed a bit of advice on a number of troubling issues.

“I want to start an airline, I am already clear on some stuff like what type of planes I will need, flight numbers and more…do you have any advice,” wrote Alex.

Among the issues that Alex sought advice from Joyce includes, what he needs to do, tips on starting an airline and how to enable passengers to achieve sleep in a 21-hour flight.

In response to the letter, the CEO of the third oldest airline in the world, answered in a seemingly serious and professional manner, perhaps heeding to the caution given to him. Joyce, despite noting that he doesn’t give advice to his competitor, gave an exception to his new rival, by giving Alex feedback to the issues he had sought answers for.

“My number one tip for starting an airline is to put safety front and centre. And do everything you can to make travel as comfortable and affordable as possible to your passengers” responded the CEO of Qantas Airways.

Extensively, the CEO Invited Alex to a project sunrise meeting between her the CEO of Qantas Airways and him the CEO of oceanic express.

“At this meeting, we can compare notes on what it is like to run an airline. And I’d Like to offer you a tour to our Operation Centre, where we keep an eye to our Qantas flight, wherever they are in the world” wrote the CEO.
