Writer Of "The Social Network" Thinks There Should Be A Sequel, Report

Aaron Sorkin has said he wants to make a follow-up to The Social Network.

The 2010 film, written by Sorkin and directed by David Fincher, traced the rise of Facebook and the fate of its founder Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jesse Eisenberg.

Sorkin won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for the film, while the film also won Best Original Score and Best Film Editing.

Speaking to AP Entertainment, Sorkin said: “First of all, I know a lot more about Facebook in 2005 than I do in 2018. But I know enough to know that there should be a sequel.”

“A lot of very interesting, dramatic stuff has happened since the movie ends with settling the lawsuit from the Winklevoss Twins and Eduardo Saverin.”

He added that the film’s producer, Scott Rudin, has also shown interest in continuing the story of Facebook on film.

Sorkin said: “I’ve gotten more than one email from him with an article attached saying, ‘Isn’t it time for a sequel?’”
