This week, rumors started floating around the webz that Meghan Markle’s first royal patronage would be the National Theatre. Kensington Palace conveniently never commented on these rumors, but due to a truly hilarious and iconic leak, it’s been confirmed.
This afternoon, a royal reporter for the Daily Telegraph tweeted a picture showing that on the website for the National Theatre it clearly says “The Duchess of Sussex announced as our new Royal Patron” on January 10.
Whoops! Looks like the first patronage "secret" is officially official thanks to the National Theatre's IT department đ "The Duchess of Sussex announced as our new Royal Patron" pic.twitter.com/h8ysbfsOkP

LOL, oops! Kensington Palace usually likes to make these kinds of announcements themselves in a #very #official capacity, so the fact that this leaked the day beforehand is totally not the usual protocol.
As patron, Meghan will basically lend her name to the theater and show face to get them publicity and therefore more donations, which is cool considering her background as an actress.
The news was already out there, but at least now it’s official. Congrats on the patronage, Meg!
