Meghan Markle has reportedly hired a pregnancy doula, Report

As the birth of her first child approaches, Meghan Markle has reportedly hired a doula to help her prepare for labour.

As Us Weekly reports, the Duchess of Sussex is reported to have hired a birthing specialist to help her get ready for the birth, marking the first time a doula will be involved in a royal birth.

“Meghan is focused on calm and positive energy around the birth — she’s a big believer in that,” a source told the magazine.

According to the Daily Mail, the doula is believed to be Laura Mishcon, who is expected to be by Markle’s side when she welcomes her first child with Prince Harry in April and has reportedly already made several visits to Kensington Palace.

Mishcon is also advising Prince Harry over what to say and do when his wife goes into labour.

Meanwhile, Us Weekly also reports that the Duke and Duchess are “racing against time” to complete renovations on their new home at Frogmore Cottage before the baby arrives.

“The one thing that’s holding up some of the work is the eco/energy centre at the heart of Frogmore Cottage,” the source explained. “It was important for Harry to reduce their carbon footprint as much as possible.”

According to the source, the couple’s vision for their new home is “city meets country — lots of muted tones, plush accents and unique pieces from around the world,” including “furniture and artwork belonging to the Royal Collection, which will be on loan to them indefinitely.”

Although construction has reportedly been “chaotic,” the source insists the newlyweds are “calm” and “happy to go with the flow.”

Markle isn’t the first royal to use outside medical services. When Kate Middleton gave birth it is reported that she used the services of Siobhan Miller who founded The Positive Birth Company.

As a hypnobirthing coach, Miller coached the Duchess of Cambridge through the birth of her children.
