Known for playing Henry Ramsey in the soap in the 80s, the 53-year old has now been charged with the crimes by police in Victoria. Mr McLachlan was accused of sexual harassment by several actresses during his career. The actor will face court next month with 10 criminal charges – one count of common assault, eight counts of indecent assault and one count of attempted indecent assault.

He is to appear at Melbourne magistrates’ court in February 8.

Mr McLachlan worked alongside Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan in Neighbours, but also starred in Home and Away and Doctor Blake Mysteries.

He now lives in New South Wales and will have to travel to Melbourne for the court appearances.

Last year, Mr Mclachlan was accused of sexual misconduct by three women who worked with him in 2014 on a production of the Rocky Horror Show.

They said he had touched them inappropriately and sexually harassed them.

Mr McLachlan denied the claims, suggesting they were made for “financial reasons” or to “gain notoriety”.

Detectives from the Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigations Teams this month confirmed they were investigating allegations of sexual offences from 2014.

However, it has not been confirmed whether the charges relate to the Rocky Horror Shows accusations.
