The Queen’s granddaughter gave birth to her second child at Stroud Maternity Unit in Gloucestershire on Monday.

The couple are already parents to Mia Tindall, aged four.

They are said to be “very happy” at the news, having suffered heartbreak before Christmas 2016 when Zara, 37, suffered a miscarriage.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “Mrs Michael Tindall was safely delivered of a baby girl on 18th June, at Stroud Maternity Unit.

“Mr Tindall was present at the birth.”

A name has yet to be confirmed for the new baby, who is second cousin to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

How much did Zara Tindall’s baby weigh?

Zara’s second baby weighed 9lb 3oz and is now officially the heaviest royal baby to be born yet.

Savannah Phillips, Zara’s cheeky niece who spectacularly shushed Prince George during the recent Trooping the Colour air parade, previously held the record.

She weighed 8lb 8oz at her birth in 2010.

Mia Tindall weighed 7lb 12oz on her arrival in 2014

How much did Kate and William’s children weigh?

All three of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children have been bigger than the average newborn, which is around 7lb 7oz in the UK.

Youngest born Prince Louis, who arrived on April 23, was the heaviest at 8lb 7oz.

Heir to the throne and oldest sibling George weighed 8lb 6oz, while Charlotte was 8lb 3oz.

Subsequent babies are usually bigger than first-borns, weighing in about 138g (5oz) heavier, according to BabyCentre.co.uk.

A spokeswoman for Buckingham Palace told Express.co.uk they could not comment on whether the new baby was the heaviest one born in years.

Where is the new baby in the line of succession?

The Tindalls’ new daughter is the seventh great-grandchild of the Queen and Prince Phillip, making her the 19th in line to the throne.

She will not be entitled to have a HRH title as neither is Zara being the offspring of the daughter of a sovereign.

Zara, a champion equestrian rider, has spoken previously of her “normal upbringing” compared to some of her other royal relatives.

She said: ”I’ve been very lucky. My parents didn’t give us titles, so we’ve been able to have a slightly more normal upbringing.

“As soon as you’ve got a title, it’s very difficult to shed it.”
