The Royal Family has advertised the new role on its website, stating the successful applicant will receive an annual salary of £19,935.80.

The role is a full-time position, which includes five day or seven day work weeks between Monday and Sunday.

The successful applicant will receive 33 days annual holiday, a 15 per cent employer contribution pension scheme, on site training as well as an array of exciting employee perks.

One of the most enticing perks includes free meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The role also states that you do not need to have previous catering experience, as training will be provided.

The advert posted on the Royal Household website, states: “It’s working as a team to achieve exceptional results.

“It’s having a shared and unique purpose, joining a professional team who deliver extraordinary service. This is what makes working for the Royal Household so different.

“You’ll join a committed kitchen team who work together to prepare and serve food to the very highest standards.

“By maintaining the kitchen and clear-up areas you’ll ensure our chefs and assistants have all they need to deliver meals throughout the day. You’ll also on occasion assist with food preparation.

“And whether you’re based in Buckingham Palace or travelling to other locations, you’ll ensure all kitchens are presented to the same exceptional standard.”

Even though the advert states there will be on-site training, there is certain criteria that all applicants must fit.

The advert states: “Most important is that you’re a natural team player, happy to get involved, use initiative and work with your colleagues to achieve a smooth daily service.

“You clearly take care and pride in your work, and so aim to deliver great results in all that you do.

“A good understanding of food hygiene and safety would be beneficial, but it’s not necessary, as if you don’t have experience in this area we’ll organise training for you.

“Above all, you’re keen to develop your skills and gain experience in an exceptional catering environment.”

A former chef at Buckingham Palace has revealed what is is like to work at the royal household, and what sort of foods kitchen staff are banned from serving.

According to chef Darren McGrady, the Queen has a “no starch” rule, and also does not eat garlic – which is likely due to the fact that Her Majesty has to meet and speak to many people during royal proceedings.

Mr McGrady said: “We can never serve anything with garlic or too much onions.

“We also couldn’t serve meat that was rare, as she liked her meat more well done.”
