Prince William and Kate have been known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge since their wedding in April 2011.

The title was gifted to them by the Queen on their wedding day.

The couple will keep this title indefinitely, even if they receive more upon Charles’ ascension to the throne.

Royal expert Marlene Koenig explained to Hello magazine that William will always be the Duke of Cambridge.

He will inherit his father’s current title, the Duke of Cornwall, and so may be styled as the Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge, alongside his wife who would become the Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge.

The couple will also, most likely, receive another title.

Most people assume William will become the Prince of Wales like his father, but the title isn’t actually hereditary.

It is often bestowed upon the next in line to the throne, but it is at the complete discretion of the Queen.
