Black and white vintage film of the Queen and Prince Philip playing with Charles has been unearthed from the royal archives.

The heartwarming footage shows Queen Elizabeth pushing Charles along in his pram during an afternoon stroll in the gardens.

The baby sits up in his pram while looking directly at the camera, giving the first real glimpse of Charles.

The footage was taken after the Queen and Duke returned home from their visit to the Chanel Islands.

Dressed in a lacy white outfit, Charles is lifted out the pram by Prince Philip and sat on his lap.

Knelt down on a blanket laid out on the grass, Queen Elizabeth sits with a teddy bear looking on lovingly as Charles plays with his toy.

The baby then gives a couple of adorable sneezes, making the Queen chuckle.

The final clip shows Charles pulling on her elegant pearl necklace while she holds him and laughs adoringly.

It seems the Royal Family will still be creating nostalgic footage for years to come, as their filming for a documentary titled “Queen of the World’ is aired on ITV next week.

The documentary focuses mainly on the Commonwealth, of which the Queen is head of, and the meeting of the heads of government from the 53 nations, called CHOGM.

During filming, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, was on maternity leave and not taking part in functions.

Prince Harry appears during the trailer with some insightful comments about his grandmother.

Revealing the intimate realities of having a Queen for a grandmother, he said: “If you suddenly bump into her in the corridor, don’t panic, and then you will, we all do.”

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is in the documentary too, viewing her wedding dress for the first time.

She beams with a smile and then touches the veil, which features hand-embroidered flowered from each of the 53 countries of the Commonwealth.

Meghan Markle said: “53 countries, oh my goodness.”
