The 92-year-old monarch was spotted wearing not one, but two pairs of shoes at the military milestone event, and switched form one pair to the other seemingly unnoticed.

As she walked alongside Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier ahead of the RAF flyover she wore a pair of black loafers that had a brass clasp.

But she also wore a pair of patent black block heels with a shiny toe first.

The brass clasp ones are commonly referred to as her “work shoes” as the Queen has been wearing the same design by London shoemaker Anello & Davide for a whopping five decades.

It takes a team of four to produce the classic black numbers that cost £1,000 and are made from a wooden mold of the Queen’s feet.

The shoes are then taken to the palace for the royal fitting when a new pair is ordered.

The Queen also has a pair of white leather shoes, ones with beige leather and three designs in satin, silver and gold.

Today, the Queen welcomed two religious leaders to Windsor Castle wearing summery floral dress.

Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar, joined the monarch at the castle.

To compliment the dress she wore a pair of black court shoes and a light pink shift dress that was decorated with leaves and flowers.

She paired this with a three string pearl necklace and pearl earrings and a slim gold watch and her hair was blowdried into her traditional regal style.

Though she has reduced her work load lately, she still attends many official engagements.

After grandson Prince Harry married American former actress Meghan Markle on May 19, she passed much of her Commonwealth duties onto the couple.

Husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, retired from all royal duties last year.

He turned 96 last month.
