The ninth-in-line to the throne is set to say “I do” to her long-term partner after eight years together – the pair met in 2010 at the luxurious Verbier ski resort in Switzerland.

Their engagement was revealed by Buckingham Palace on January 12.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr. Jack Brooksbank.

“Her Royal Highness and Mr Brooksbank became engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month.”

When is Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank?

Princess Eugenie, 28, and Jack, 32, are marrying at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, on October 12.

About 850 people are on the guest list, with rumoured celebrity attendees including the Clooneys, Beckhams, Ed Sheeran and Cara Delevingne.

Like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Eugenie will invite 1,200 members of the public to share in her big day.

A public ballot, now closed, will allow the lucky guests to savour the atmosphere from the grounds of Windsor Castle as they watch on a large screen.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement: Also present in the Castle Grounds will be representatives of charities supported by Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, together with members of the Windsor community and children from the local schools which Her Royal Highness attended.

“Residents of Windsor Castle and a number of Royal Household staff will also be present.”

Once the ceremony is over, Eugenie and Jack will take a carriage ride through the streets of Windsor where they will be cheered on by attending crowds.

However, they will not get to ride up the Long Walk like Harry and Meghan in May after they tied the knot.

But the Queen’s granddaughter is also planning on throwing a mammoth party to remember.

A source told the Daily Telegraph, “After the more formal celebration at Windsor Castle, the Saturday bash will be a relaxed party.

“There will be dodgems and funfair rides, coconut shies, lots of food stalls, loads of cocktails, Bloody Marys for the hangovers and a festival vibe.”

Can you watch the wedding on the TV?

The BBC is not planning on airing live coverage of the big day but they will show the highlights.

A BBC spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “There will be news coverage of the wedding across our services.”

There have reportedly been grumbles behind the scenes, with Prince Andrew trying and failing to agree a deal with the BBC to show the wedding live.
