The images were taken at the prestigious annual WellChild awards, which took place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel last night.

Prince Harry has been a patron of the charity since 2007, and regularly attends its events.

Awards were handed out to both young people suffering from debilitating medical conditions and the medical professionals who are treating them.

A series of intimate pictures show Prince Harry meeting a group of children suffering from health conditions.

One shows the Prince meeting a young boy in a wheelchair.

Both are smiling widely, and at one point the Prince even jokingly sticks out his tongue.

Another shows a young girl pulling Prince Harry’s tie, as he responds with a comical face.

Prince Harry was joined at the event by his wife Meghan, the first time she has ever attended.

Meghan was photographed arriving with the Prince wearing a smart black outfit.

One photo shows Meghan using her fingers to play with one child as both give broad smiles.

In another Prince Harry and Meghan pose with a large group of award winners.

Both Prince Harry and Meghan were guests at a pre-ceremony reception.

Prince Harry went on to deliver a speech, and also handed over an award.

The winners included Matilda Booth, a seven-year-old from West Yorkshire who is paralysed from the chest down due to a spinal defect.

To try and improve her condition she has had over 40 operations.

Ms Booth was praised by WellChild for her “courage, strength and determination” and “great zeal for life”.
