The eldest child of the Cambridge family, five-year-old George will be entering Year One of school when he returns this week.

He attends the private Thomas’s Academy in Battersea, which has a broad curriculum, including ballet, which George is expected to start this year.

The school’s website says the performance dance “develops students’ physical skills, stamina, creativity, expression and musicality, using a range of sounds and musical styles.

“This strong foundation prepares students for a successful transition to Ballet and other dance genres.”

Other subjects taught from an early age include French, art, music and P.E.

When does Prince George go back to school?

George is likely to start school on Thursday, September 6, which is the start of the 2018 autumn school term, according to Thomas’s Academy’s website.

He will be in lessons until Thursday, October 18 when he will have a week off for half-term.

Will Kate Middleton drop him off?

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge is expected to drop off George as she and husband Prince William regularly participate in the school run.

William was there to see off a nervous-looking George on his first day of school last year.

The royal youngster was dressed in his school’s signature navy blue jumper with a red emblem as he was greeted by Ms Haslem, the head of the lower school.

Kate was experiencing severe morning sickness at the time when she was pregnant with her third child, Prince Louis.

Who else goes to Thomas’s Battersea?

Some 560 children, aged between four and 13, attend the prestigious Battersea school, according to Thomas’s Academy’s website.

Fees were £17,604 a year, increasing from Year 3 onwards, according to 2017 figures.

George is not the only royal to attend Thomas’s as one of his fellow classmates is his distant cousin Maud Windsor.

Maud is the eldest daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor, a first cousin once removed from the Queen.

Her mother is former Peep Show actress Sophie Winkleman, now formally known as Lady Frederick Windsor.

Previous celebrity alumnees at the school include supermodel Cara Delevingne and singer Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine fame.
