The Prince of Wales, who will celebrate his birthday on November 14, will be honoured with a star-studded line up of magical performances from world-renowned magicians and comedians at the London Palladium.

The future king has expressed his love for magic, and even joined the exclusive secretive Magic Circle in 1975, stunning members with a classic cup and ball trick of his own.

Charles’ birthday performance will be called We Are Most Amused and Amazed – a nod to Queen Victoria’s famous phrase – and will be broadcast by ITV on 14 November.

ITV announced the show as a “a truly unique and unforgettable night where the world’s greatest comics join forces with the most accomplished of magicians to celebrate The Prince of Wales’s 70th Birthday”.

Organisers said the performance will see “a cast of comedy giants take to the stage, but will also showcase the best jaw-dropping illusions from the greatest magicians in the business”.

The event is one of many to mark Prince Charles’ big day, honouring his charity work and continued service to the royal family throughout the years.

The show’s line up has yet to be confirmed, but it is likely that Dynamo – one of Britain’s renowned magicians – will be performing, previously receiving funding from the Prince’s Trust during the early days of his career.

Dynamo previously spoke about how Charles had believed in him before he became a household name in magic.

Speaking about how the Prince’s Trust helped him during difficult times, Dynamo said: “When I said I wanted to be a magician they didn’t laugh in my face as so many others had done, they gave me the help I needed.”

He added: “Prince Charles believed in me, this kid with crazy ideas like wanting to walk on the Thames.”

It is believed Richard Jones, a Britain’s Got Talent contestant may also perform, after Prince Charles had previously featured in his magic show during a Royal Variety Performance in 2016.

Charles’ love for magic started when his great-uncle, Earl Mountbatten, who took him to the secretive Magic Circle, where he was a member for 20 years.

He then earned his own right of passage to the club, performing a disappearing trick with cups and a ball.

The prince is frequently seen awing at magic tricks during royal engagements, making it clear his love for magic is deeply rooted.

Proceeds from his 70th birthday celebrations will go to the Prince’s Trust, and the television programme will be co-produced by Spun Gold, the company behind the BAFTA-winning The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration.

On his birthday, Charles is also expected to enjoy a private dinner celebration with his family and close friends.

Earlier in May, the Queen hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Prince of Wales’ Patronages and Military affiliations, as well as charities supported by the prince.

Because Charles is the first in line to the British throne, a series of celebrations will take place throughout the year for the future king.
