Royal watchers have drawn dozens of parallels between Meghan and Wallis, who became the Duchess of Windsor.

But one trait of Meghan’s personality and attitude towards the Royal Family makes her completely different from Wallis, according to English journalist Andrew Morton.

The writer, author of the biography Wallis In Love, believes Prince Harry’s wife is keen on playing a role in the Royal Family and wants to “give back” much more than the Duchess of Windsor ever did.

He said: “Meghan seems to have a sense of wanting to give back, whereas Wallis only ever wanted to take.”

Meghan entered the British Royal Family by marrying Harry, 81 years after Wallis’ wedding to former King Edward VIII in 1937.

While Wallis caused a constitutional crisis and led to the abdication of King Edward VIII in 1936, Meghan has been immediately regarded as a perfect fit for the Royal Family.

Yet, there are still a number of factors that draw Meghan closer to Wallis than to any other member of the Royal Family.

Many biographers and royal watchers argue their similarities go beyond the fact that they were both US citizens who found love in England.

They also married into royalty despite coming from a previous marriage.

The two women were also deemed similar for their physical traits.

Both slender, they shared the same hair colour, length and preferred combing style.

Just like Wallis, Meghan likes to gather her hair in a bun and often adopts a centre parting.

Eagle-eyed royal fans have also noticed Meghan has been making fashion choices similar to Wallis’s ones on more than one occasion.

One of Wallis’s favourite designers was Hubert de Givenchy.

Meghan chose a gown by Givenchy’s fashion house for her Royal Wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19.

And the Rolls-Royce Phantom IV that drove the Duchess of Sussex to her wedding was the same car that took Wallis to her husband’s funeral at that same venue four decades earlier.

Wallis was given the title of Duchess of Windsor upon her wedding day, on June 3 1937.

Former King Edward was appointed Duke of Windsor by his brother, King George VI, but was denied to share with his wife the title of Royal Highness.

Meghan and Harry became the Duchess and Duke of Sussex on May 19, and are both recognised as Royal Highnesses.
