Wendell Pierce stated he initially had doubts surrounding whether Ms Markle’s claim to be dating Prince Harry was in fact true.
He said: “I actually didn’t believe it was real.
“Then all of a sudden I turn around and there is this guy from MI5 on set every day.”
However, as the Government has a “neither confirm nor deny” policy for the activities of the MI5, the report is unlikely to be verified.
Mr Pierce added that he thinks Meghan is doing a “wonderful” job as the Duchess of Sussex and a new member of the Royal Family.
Commenting on his former co-star, he added: “The one thing that was clear, she was extremely happy.
“She had a glow. I knew she was in love.
“With the whirlwind of publicity and the world of being a Royal now, the one thing that’s constant is the fact that I know she loves him.”
Mr Pierce claims that when Meghan started dating Prince Harry, they would discuss the relationship via code.
He said of the Prince: “We always talked about him in code really.
“You know, ‘How you doing?’ ‘Oh I’m going to London, coming from London’, whatever.”
Mr Pierce, 54, plays Meghan’s father and high-powered attorney Robert Zane in Suits.
Like her real father, he was not able to attend the Royal wedding at Windsor Castle in May, and instead celebrated at home.
However, a number of Meghan’s fellow Suits co-stars were able to attend.
Mr Pierce told the Daily Telegraph about one very special memory he has with Meghan, which he will always remember.
He explained: “We had a moment I cherish.
