The Duchess of Sussex was the protagonist of a royal blunder on Tuesday evening when she landed at Dublin Airport carrying a bag still sporting wrapping on the protective studs on its underside.

But the ugly wrapping didn’t prevent fans of the former actress to rush out and buy the same £475 Strathberry tote.

The bag sold out just hours after the Duchess was pictured using it.

Meghan, 36, didn’t carry the bag for long though, as she changed hours after touching down in Dublin into a black midi dress by Emilia Wickstead with a square neckline and a black Givenchy clutch.

Earlier today she was seen clinging onto her husband, Prince Harry, as she struggled in her heels on the cobbles outside residence Aras an Uachtarain as the couple met Ireland’s President Michael D Higgins.

This trip is the first official overseas royal tourfthe Duke and Duchess have carried out as a married couple.

The pair have already gone through a day of packed schedule – and today was no less busy for the newlyweds.

During the final day of their visit, Harry and Meghan met President Higgins and his wife.

Later they will visit a number of organisations in Dublin and meet people living in the city.

But they will get back to London to watch tonight’s England v Croatia World Cup semi-final match.

A reporter asked the prince, whose brother William is the head of the Football Association (FA) whether “football was coming home”, referring to the 1996 World Cup song.

The Duke of Sussex replied laughing: “Most definitely.”

But last night the Duke had refused to answer the same question.

When Ireland rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll quizzed him about the outcome of Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final match on Tuesday night, Harry refused to budge.

The former sports star said: “I asked him, ‘so, is football coming home?’

“But he refused to say it. I think he just said he isn’t as confident as everyone else about England winning tomorrow.

“He said he won’t say it because he doesn’t want to jinx it.”
