If plans go ahead, the museum could attract 200,000 visitors a year but the application has divided the community and spaced 250 complaints.

As well as the exhibition centre, the pair also hope to build 28 luxury homes to sell to wealthy car enthusiasts like Prince Harry.

Harry, who drove Meghan away from their wedding in a vintage E-type Jaguar, has owned several fast cars and is an Oxfordshire local himself.

It is reported that Harry and Meghan recently hosted visitors at their Oxfordshire home as recently as July.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra paid a visit to their friends in Oxfordshire after Jonas popped the question on Chopra’s 36th birthday in London.

Harry won’t be able to show Jonas around the museum just yet however, as villagers are campaigning to have the plans rejected.

Locals claim the project is a cover for a ‘large and lucrative housing development’ on green field land.

Residents, including Star Trek actor Sir Patrick Stewart and retired judge Charles Harris QX have criticised the development.

Sir Patrick publicly described the plans as “commercial and elitist.”

Profits from the development will go towards restoring Johnston’s estate.

West Oxfordshire Council confirmed the scheme is now on hold as the developers consider the ‘main planning issues that needed to be addressed.’

Mr Johnston and his developers declined to comment.
