The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were on the royal box to watch the final unfold between Novak Djokovic and Kevin Anderson on Centre Court.

The Men’s Singles Final at Wimbledon is seen as the main court battle at the annual tennis championships, and often attracts high profile names and royal family members.

Kate attended the Women’s Singles Final yesterday alongside Meghan Markle, for their first outing together without their husbands.

But today it was the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge taking the top seats, and they were spotted gazing at one another lovingly and sharing jokes.

Kate beamed at her husband as she looked fresh and summery in a yellow dress, while Prince William looked dashing in faint tartan print grey suit and navy-blue tie at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in south-west London.

Joining Kate and William in the royal box was also Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband Philip as well as actors Hugh Grant and Tom Hiddleston.

Prince William sat next to the Prime Minister, and the two couples were seen chatting and smiling before the match got underway.

The royal couple where then pictured talking to Australian former tennis player Rod Laver who won Wimbledon in the men’s singles in 1961, 1962, 1968 and 1969 as well as the doubles in 1970, the mixed doubles in 1959 and 1960.

Tennis champion Laver is considered one of the greatest players of all time with 11 Grand Slam titles among his more than 200 titles – the most in tennis history.

The 2018 championships mark the second time the Duchess of Cambridge has chosen to wear yellow to quintessentially British Grand Slam – in 2016, Kate wore a yellow form-fitting dress to Day 10 of the championship.

Today Anderson, 32, comes into the match after a marathon semi-final lasting six hours and 36 minutes against John Isner on Friday.

Kate is well-versed in the traditions at SW19, with she and her family enjoying the tournament for years before she became a royal.

This year Pippa Middleton along with husband James Matthews have been seen in the crowd, along with mother and father Carole and Michael Middleton.

Kate is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and as part of her duties she meets ball boys and girls and junior players.

Kate and William were joined in the royal box by Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband as well as actors Hugh Grant and Tom Hiddleston.

Novak Djokoic won the battle on centre court, beating Anderson in a tense match by seven sets to six.
