The in-demand Royal has not been seen since the birth of her third child Prince Louis, except at the Trooping The Colour festivities and the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams commented on the Duchess’ absence, saying: “Kate will be resuming Royal duties after taking extended maternity leave as expected after Louis’s birth, probably in the autumn.”

Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe added: “It is traditional for new Royal mums to take a six-month break from official engagements.

“The wedding doesn’t count because it was a family affair but other than that, she will pick and choose her engagements.

“If she wanted, Kate could disappear into the background until October!”

But according to Hello Magazine, the next engagement at which the Duchess is likely to wear a tiara will be a state banquet held by the Queen for the visit of the King and Queen of the Netherlands in October.

Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday that King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will spend two days in the UK between October 23-24 after accepting an invitation from the Queen.

The Duchess of Cambridge has not yet officially confirmed her attendance, but she is expected to attend as the event falls beyond the typical six-month maternity leave period.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not expected to attend the glamorous event, as they are undertaking a Commonwealth tour and will visit Australia for the Invictus Games taking place between October 20 to 27.

The British and Dutch Royal Families have a long history of friendship, and the Duchess of Cambridge last visited Holland on her first solo overseas visit in 2016.

Queen Maxima was also present at the Remembrance Day service in London in 2015, and attended the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011 alongside her husband.

The last state visit by the Dutch Royal Family came in 1982, when Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus visited Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been seen in numerous tiaras since she officially became a member of the Royal Family following her marriage to Prince William in 2011.

The Royal has donned the Lotus Flower tiara, also known as the Papyrus Leaf tiara, on multiple occasions, including the Chinese state banquet in 2017.

It was originally created for the Queen Mother when she was the Duchess of York, and was refashioned from Gerrard necklace.

The Duchess has also worn Princess Diana’s favourite, the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, at numerous engagements, including during the 2017 Spanish state visit.
