On Monday, the Duchess of Cambridge was glowing with joy as she cradled Prince Louis in her arms at the exclusive christening ceremony.

According to Royal biographer Ingrid Stewart, despite its grand surroundings, the intimate tone of the event was set by none other than the Duchess of Cambridge.

Ms Seward told People.com: “She has blossomed and looked more confident, beaming with happiness.

“Kate is hugely dutiful, but she is quite strong and leading the way behind the scenes.

“She is like her mum Carole Middleton in that sense.”

A video posted by the Kensington Palace showed Kate Middleton commenting on how Prince Louis was “very relaxed and peaceful” to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

She later added: “I hope he stays like this.”

A source close to the palace commented on the christening, saying: “I’m sure this is all Catherine’s influence.

“I’m sure she is leading on building all the family relations.”

Despite Kate’s wealthy lifestyle, she has said before that she values things money cannot buy – like family moments.

In a recent letter she wrote to mark Children’s Hospice Week, the Duchess said: “Spending quality time together is such an important aspect of family life and for me, as a mother, it is the simple family moments like playing outside together that I cherish.”

Prince Louis christening was attended by senior-ranking rankings including Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Middletons were also all in attendance, along with Prince Louis’ new godparents, carefully chosen by the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge.

After the service, Kate Middleton and Prince William hosted a private tea at Clarence House.

But it wasn’t just any cake the couple were serving at the afternoon tea.

They served up slices of their seven-year-old wedding cake.

Along with cake, outfits and designers, Kate also reused Prince Louis’ christening gown, having previously dressed both Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3 in it.
